Alen Air purifiers have a huge share of the mid to high price air purifiers. They got started in 1996. They are much more affordable than the others in its class. They, in my opinion are the, best in the mid-high price range as far as quality is oncerned. I tested them and for an all in one (carbon and Hepa) at their price surprised me. I know what solid built construction feels and looks like. They have both. They also have their famous life time warranty on their purifier (as long as its mainteined properly and people follow the instructions. but rarely people follow anything.
The Alen BreatheSmart HEPA Air Purifier is the model that everyone seems to ask me about and that is the model and only model I tested. it is their top of the line model.

They do have a medal frame that can be infused unlike the ABS plastic models. Infusig the outside of a plastic one is good but just not the same as the actually infusing the real thing. Its like getting a massage thats not enough pressure when you are just laying there and the massage therapist doesnt have the strength to give you a deep tissue massage that you crave. You would cancel it if you could but don't want to be rude.
They have speratire filters that you don't have to throw away the whole thing like the filters that are all attached in one. Their carbon has a large footprint in htat it has less than some filters but because of its surface area it has super absorbtion. They also put other blends of compounds in their carbon mixed in for maximum absorbtion. They do have themore granular type, not the carbon that has the low absorbtion rate. RArely do people ask for replacements for their carbon filters as they are refillable.

These are also one of the hypo allergenic purifiers in that it has no glues or foams.
Their AirMedic MCS EcoFlow has 25 lbs of carbon in it. This is one of their high end models and is one of the better machines on the market. They use about 80 watts which is the same as running a light bulb that I have. Super cheap to run, almost as cheap as the German motors but at a fraction of the price. They are also rated at 560 CFM.
