Austin air is the most popular brand of all high end Air purifiers. In nyc, I first saw the Austin Air Healthmate in the ABC carpet store. They had all their models plus the Blue air models. I noticed on that floor the air was better than the other floors, especially in that area. Each floor had a unique smell, the carpet floor on the top floor the worst smell.

Note: this has no timers or sensors like the Airgle. this is more like the Aireox if I had to choose on that is closest.

The TRACS and the Austin Air in my opinion tie on quality but the Austin is more powerful. They both are different. The TRACS and Airgle passed the laser test.

The Austin air seems to have the best customer support of allthe companies I have called. There seems to be more healtho selling Austin Air than any other brand so that tells me a little something. Unlike the others, this has 15 pounds of carbon inside its filters. It doesnt ahve the potassium like the Aireox but can run at high speeds at super high effieciency. The others have 30 to 5 lbs of carbon and those work great. but 15 lbs. thats insane. Over all, this is probably one of the best for those that want efficiency and lower costs of filters. The manufacture produces so many of these that they can keep their costs down as it is obvious in thier prices.

Just like Airgle, they are also located in New York. They have been around since the beginning. They have probably seen all the air purifier companies go in and out of business since they were one of the original players. I have found that their motors are made in China but they are super high quality compared to most of the Chinese junk I test. But the rest of their purifier is put together right in the states.

The noise is 50 decibels on low and 66 on high which is not bad. Based on the killowatt meter, its using about 114 watts when it was on high and about 55 watts on low.

This is the highest end economy air purifiers. They make their air purifiers affordable and tthier filters are much more affordable, probably why this is the most called about brand on the market.
