I first heard about the TRACS air purifier from a customer that asked me why it wasn't on my site. I had never heard of this brand since 2007 when I first started reviewing air purifers. They do not advertise at all nor have I seen the at any health expos in the last 10 years.

The Tracs is made in Florida. They claim their air purifer is 100% sealed. This is the first thing they talk about when I called several of their dealers. ONe of the dealers told me that 99% sealed is still not enough (see my complaints page, this is the number one complaint outside of noise complaints. Leakage. I also did testes on the TRACS Air Cleaner motel 6 months after continuous usage. They make 3 different motels, including the wooden one. Sure enough, the laser particle meter showed no leakage.

NOTE: There were some that claimed they were 100% sealed but the ones I bought used on ebay that were at least a year old failed my test.

The seals and gaskets and overall build in the TRACS is almost flawless. The way its built clearly costs more to build than any other model in its price range. If there 785 model was in brick/morter stores or advertised heavily in magazines, it would no doubt cost at least 1200 to 1500. It is not as powerful as the Airgle nor has the amoutn of carbon as the Aireox but its a totally niche purifier, with the UV pointing at the filters especially.

The carbon filters need to be changed about 3 times as many times a the other brands but they are only 3 lbs instead of a big 15 lb filter. The micro pores get filled up quicker. The carbon in theirs is not from coconut shell either and the pH is the hihgest I tested. The cluster size of their carbon is the small micro type too. (see my carbon review here to learn about the different grade of carbon that go into carbon filters).

The way their frame is fitted to the motor and filters, it super tight, nothing vibrates. Every part is not just assebled in the states but made here, not in China. Their filters are also certified for hospital grade. Many people now want hospital grade purifiers in their home.

I am very picky about my air purifeir harvesting bacteria and molds. The UV light that aims at the filter kills pretty much anything in contact. There is one downside to this though but it out weights the cons.

The noise is low, espeically on the wooden one that dampens the sound. Its made of heavy oak tree wood. Even though the 785 model is stronger, the wooden one is what is more popular at 3/4 amps instead of 1 amp. I have the Walnut color. The Mahogany one is the most popular one.

They can make any color you want. One guy got wanted a hot pink fuchsia color to put in every room of his house. The only thing about the wood motels is that they dont have the UV pointing at the filter. If in a hospital where there are viruses and infectious people, definately the uv models. If you have bugs and mold growing in yoru filter it doesnt matter how sealed it is in my opinion. Being sealed is the least of the worries. The main con that UV lights do when pointing at the filter normally would be drying out the HEPA filter. This constant exposure to the ultra violet light can cause cracking and make. The best way to put it is like a dried out leaf in the fall.

Most filters have the carbon and Hepa all into one so you gotta change the entire thing out even if the carbon is good but the Hepa is bad, and vice versa.

The carbon filter is totally seperated in all their models. The filters in their purifiers are much more afordable than most brands out there. If somoen is lazy, they probably will want to get a bigger carbon or an air purifer that is bigger than compact size of this brand. The quality is insane but it a smaller unit. But the other ones that have high output aren't sealed and many have the macro cluster carbon. Some people will want the Tracs brand and another customer will want the Austin Air model. The difference in lifestyles of the buyer will determine that. I don't tell someone this or that model is better. its all based on the experience the person wants to have with their air purifier.

The Tracs models also have monitors intead of timers. It lets me know when to change the filter before I keep it running on clogged filters. Their is a sensor that measure the airflow resistance in the filter. Its actually pretty accurate.

Since the Tracs units are rather small the do the job a little slower but they are designed for all day usage. They are more of a constant usage purifier that is left on all day. It doesnt have a high intenstiy purification model like the Airle high flow models. If someone wnats a quiet model that does an excellent job but not going to give the most room air exchanges the fastest.

I do not believe the air moves slow enough to kill germs and viruses from the UV light but having the contant uv light on the filter assures me theres nothing gonna grow in my filter. The intensity of their uv lights is also very powerful. (see my UV review). Theres also doen't produce ozone like the earlier generations and the cheap imports do.

There unit are a little over a foot tall. They are not known for their large diameter fans. They are super quiet for a smaller purifier. If omeone wants a powerful purifier that will do large square foot rooms, the air purity can go fro 99.99% to lower percentages. All this should be taken in consideration when picking out a powerful motel versus a tightly 100% sealed motel. If the goal is to purify the air more, this is great. If someone doent care that it is 99.99999% purified for the air that goes into the filter, and want to do large multi rooms, then that is another situation.

This is their UV combo model. Their wooden one does NOT have the UV.
...because they sold me the wrong one twice
