Blueair known for thier super quiet operation is really actually quiet. I bought my first one at Bed Bath and Beyond a while back and I just wanted to see how quiet they were. They had one on display but it wasnt plugged in. I tried to find a freakin outlet but none were around. I didnt want to bring them around the store so I bought it. (with my 25% of coupon that I bought on Ebay) (yes I save all the 20% off coupons they mail me and collect them in the trash near the mail boxes where I live. EVerything throws them out. I use them.

The fitlers are not HEPA. This is a different type of air purifier. You ahve to vaccum the grill more often on this than some of the other ones I have tested. Other than having to vaccum more often, its a pretty good air filter. Bed bath and beyond and ABC carpet in NYC, the two biggest stores selling home goods, sell this and in order to get an air purifer in these stores it must be good and at an affordable price. It uses about 35 watts on its low speed. This costs probably the least of all airpurifers to run.

Note: Everyone is asking why their purifier is quieter than others. The filters they use have way less resistane than the average filter out there and the fan doesn't have to work the motor as hard and blow the same amount of air to move the same amount of air through the filter. The resistance is cut dramatically unlike a Hepa filter that has much more resistance.
Plus they have a insulation type material that even dampens the noise even more. The Blue Air really is the quietest with the Oransi being the secodn most quiet one I have tested.

The Blue Air purifier is also not leaching and nothing is toxic in side their purifiers, especially for chemical sensitivies to off gassing. Their purifier is also another one of the Energy Star rated ones that has passed for reduced energy expenses. It is very cheap to run their purifier per year compared to others in the same power range.

They get the fewest returns. I talked to about 10 different people who sell them in the Bed Bath and Beyond stores and they all told me its rarely returned. If you don't need a Hepa filter and you need an air filter like this, you will be happy with it. Take my quiz and I will recommend an air purifier based on your answers.
