Airpura
The Airpura is an interesting air purifier. They are known for having the super oxygenated carbonthey activate to make the pore size super small. They had 18 lbs of carbon in the carbon filter I tested. I decided to weigh each carbon filter. Another companie said they had 15 lbs of carbon. I weighed the filter, and yes it weighed 15 lbs but when I took the carbon out, it only weghed 10.2 lbs. The metal filter holding the carbon weighed ab out 5 lbs. This really pissed me off. And even more when I called the company and screamed at them and said they were scamming me. They hung up on me. This was really F@#%ked up.

So, I weighed the Airpura filter about to bust them. They actually had 15 lbs of actual carbon. After doing more research, I calmed down when I found out the truth. The company that I thought ripped me off said, "carbon up to 15 lbs". This is BS. I don't read the fine print. It said 15 lb carbon filter. How am I supposedto know that the carbon weighed 10.2 lbs. They told me to stop calling them. How am I the bad guy when I ask a company how many lbs of carbon your filter has.... NOT HOW MUCH DOES YOUR CARBON FILTER WEIGHT. They answer the question, "our carbon filter weighs 15 lbs". NO, that is not what I asked.. I asked how many lbs of carbon does your fpurifier weigh.

So, the Airpura company was the first comapny that actually told me how much carbon their filters have while caling other companies the sales reps said they dont know. They never actually took all the carbon out and measured it. So f@#%ked up.

Also their activated carbon has more surface area that most carbons. I called them and they explained the process how they do it to make their pore size the smallest.

Their motors are super green. They use 40 watts on the lwo and 120 on high. Some use as high as 200 watts to push the same amount of air and theirs with so much carbon and their hepa, normally it would take more electricty to power something liek this. Their purifiers are much cheaper to run per day than most.

Their sound when I tested it at 6 foot away from it, was 62.6 when it was on full blast. It was 28.4 on low. I ended up buying 2 of them and the 2nd one was 28.1 on low and 62.5 on high. NOt all purifiers are exact with any company.  I wanted to see if my sound was the same as the one they claim and they were super close.

They are sealed and have felt gasgets to seal the filter. They don't use gels or rubber seals so it doesnt smell like rubber when you get it. Many have a rubber smell that later fades away.

The Hepa they use is a 40 foot in square feet. They claim their Hepa is warm rolled so it doesnt start cracking and splitting at the folds. Their is less stress on each fold as they have 10 folds in each square inch. Most have 6 folds on teh cheaper ones and 7 on the mid priced and 8 to 9 on the more expensive ones. They also have a good quality pre filter.

They have have a super powerful UV light. It is 20watts and is rated at 30,000. The wooden purifier a lot of people ask about has about 18,000. The UV is also in the main filter so it sanitizes teh filter just like the Tracs brand. (many companies are doing this now. Before companies thought that the uv should be pointing at the air that goes out of the purifer. Now, the trend is the oposite.

The CFM is 560. This beats the 530 CFM Airpura rate that usually is the top of the portable machines. Unless its a 160 lbs super high end portable model that has about 625 CFM. See the AirShield AS625P. Its super quiet and is now a Class II medical device. This is over kill for most people but its good if you can afford it.

The Airpura is my top selling one if someone needs higher output and quietness. If somone doesnt need the high output like this brand the TRACS brand based on all the testes I ran is just the small version of the Airpura. More like a room size model. Not everyone needs double the output.

If trying to purifiy a room around 2000 square feet this products is sufficient. The TRACS is good but no where near that output. The TRACS is the one I compare as it is one of the models that really stays 100% sealed as what they claim if the filter is changed quarterly.

See my TRACS page here.

The Airpura is one of the brands that I will give a 30 day trial. This is one of brands I never get complaints about. To this day, everyhting the Airpura company claims on thier website is 100% accurate.  I still have one and waiting to see if anything gets noiser or the motors fail or the seals break and It doesn't pass the laser particle test.

BUYER BEWARE: Just because the air purifier passes the laser particle test when its first bought while the seals and gaskets are fresh, this does nto mean that 6 months later it will still pass the test. This is why I don't just go by any companys claiming their air purifers are 100% sealed.

The Airpura has not failed the test as long as filters are changed quarterly.

I strongly recommend the Airpura as a first purchase for larger purification purposes up to 2000 square feet.

Berriman-usa.com is the largest and oldest dealer for them. The Airpura company does not sell directly to the public. You have to buy from one of their distributors. Berriman-usa.com has the best prices I have found. They also sell Austin Air, Aller air, TRACS, and more. I talked to the owner of this company and he will tell you the best purifier for your application. Mention my site to them and let you know you like my site. He answered a lot of technical quetsions I had while building my site. He is one of the few air purifier dealers that has dissected each purifier like I did.
...because they sold me the wrong one twice
